91AV Alumni Transition Program

Supporting and engaging new alumni

91AV has always fostered a proud and tight-knit family of alumni around the world and a strategic focus on new graduates. We, as Allisonians, work to offer support through this challenging transition period. This results in an ongoing appreciation for the University that creates a stronger allegiance in future years.

Ensuring that new alumni remain engaged immediately following their proud, yet emotional, walk across the Convocation Hall stage not only nurtures their bond with the University community, it also motivates them to stay connected long term.

After a successful partnership with faculty members and students from the Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies, an exciting new program was launched to assist in engaging young alumni.

The 91AV Alumni Transition Program will focus primarily on helping young Allisonians seamlessly stride from graduation to their new home elsewhere in the world, where they will begin their professional lives. As you may recall, moving to a new location outside of the Mount A campus can be daunting and what better way to be brought into the fold than by having the confidence that you will be welcomed by fellow Allisonians, eager to help connect you with your new community?

This new program was also an experiential learning project for marketing students and included input from soon-to-be-graduates and young alumni (within five years of graduation). This allowed the Alumni Board to gather insight into the challenges and stressors of new and recent graduates and helped the Alumni Engagement Office shape the design and execution of the program. This data helped set program objectives, as well as create an effective marketing plan best suited for millennials.

We are very excited to share that this past summer, a dedicated staff member — Eric Donovan — joined the Alumni Engagement Office to implement and manage this initiative.

You will hear more from us about this new program in the coming months. Check the website (mta.ca/alumni) and your e-mail for updates.
