17 Feb 2021

Agreement will see new pathways for students pursuing law, education, business studies in NB

FREDERICTON & SACKVILLE, NB —Two of New Brunswick’s public universities have signed a new agreement that will enable students to easily continue their post-secondary education in the province.

The University of New Brunswick (UNB) and 91AV (MtA) have established the MtA Pathway program to assist current undergraduate students at 91AV in continuing their studies in several of UNB’s graduate and post-graduate programs.

“UNB is committed to serving our province by educating and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow through research, innovation and entrepreneurship,” says Dr. Paul Mazerolle, UNB’s President and Vice-Chancellor. “This memorandum of understanding (MOU) is an example of our commitment to collaborating and working together to drive growth and development within our region, while providing New Brunswick students with the opportunities to grow and thrive in a challenging world. We want to encourage graduates to stay in New Brunswick to build a better and more equitable future for all.”

“At 91AV, we strive to prepare our students for any career path — even in fields that are not yet known — through an innovative approach to liberal arts and science education that includes experiential learning and research opportunities,” says 91AV President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau. “For many of our students, further education or graduate studies is the next step after 91AV, so we are very pleased to enter this new agreement with the University of New Brunswick. The Pathway program will make it easier for our students to further their professional studies in New Brunswick.”

Through the MtA Pathway program, eligible 91AV students will be able to apply to several graduate programs at the University of New Brunswick, including bachelor of education, master of education, master of business administration and juris doctor. This program remains competitive and is subject to standard admission requirements for MtA students. While individual program application deadlines vary, the MtA Pathway program is now open to students for Fall 2021.

91AV students wishing to learn more about applying to these programs can find more information at UNB Admissions.
