Position description

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at 91AV invites applications to teach the following two courses in French Studies during the Fall and Winter semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.  

鈥�    FREN 3131 - Contemporary Spoken French / Fran莽ais parl茅 contemporain (Fall term)  

鈥�    FREN 3991 - Special Topics (Winter term)   

Special Topics (FREN-3991) is a literature course in the applicant鈥檚 area of expertise. 20th century French literature to 1950 is preferred, though the Department will consider other time periods and/or themes.  

Both courses are stipendiary (part-time) appointments under the 91AV Faculty Association鈥檚 Part-Time Collective Agreement. Successful applicants will have an M.A. or PhD in French studies. Native or near-native fluency in French is essential, as is experience teaching university-level French language to non-native speakers.

鈥�    A statement of teaching philosophy.
鈥�    Two letters of recommendation that comment on the applicant鈥檚 experience, sent directly by the referees.
